Match report The development team took on a strong Harpenden side at Sandpit Lane. The match consisted of 30 overs per side and St Albans batted first. A strong start was provided by Fin Kilner (27) and Josh Kleiner-Mann (13) but we were unable to capitalise properly. The middle order did not fire as they can do with only Jonathan Harris (18), Nathan Kleiner Mann (15) and Sri Yendapelly (15) providing runs of any meaning. The upshot was St Albans posted a total of 133 which was 30-40 runs short of where we should have been.

The Harpenden side played diligently and cautiously in reply but inevitably managed to secure the runs that were required. St Albans were guilty of giving away too many extras 38 in total and our bowling was too wayward. Harpenden got the winning runs with 3 overs to spare.

All in all St Albans were under par and Harpenden were the deserved winners. St Albans performance suffered from too many holidays, lapse shots and bowling and not enough focus coming into the game. Definite room for improvement
