Match report The reigning Herts Champs hosted this game puting St Albans in to bat. Wickets fell regularly. At least 5 batsmen were very unlucky, being bowled by balls which did not bounce and shot along the ground under the bat. However the highlight was Freddie's 23 which included the first 6 of the season, and put a brief stop to the sledging from Shenley! We were all out for 49. Shenley just used their 4 main strike bowlers (2 of which are county players). It should be noted that other opposition have only scored 10 and 23 against Shenley this season so 49 is the highest total scored against Shenley - great achievement!
Shenley's county pairing opened the batting and both were retired with the the total on 40. Some great bowling by the 7 bowlers used, in particular Oliver (1-10) and Joseph (1-4) were rewarded. Shenley scored the winning runs in the 9th over.
Congratulations go to the St Albans players for the great game played in an excellent spirit.
