Match report After a tumultuous week getting a team together the 6s made the trip to Hemel for a game against a similarly assembled Boxmor side. Despite the dry looking pitch skipper Andy Melling elected to bowl with the prospect of losing a key batsman to work after tea. The loss of the wicket of Knill-Jones Snr brought Knill-Jones junior to the crease. Him and Jamie Coffer set about hitting the Boxmor attack to all parts of the ground. Knill-Jones Jnr hit 3 sixes on a tricky pitch where both batsman did well to protect their wickets . A partnership of over 100 saw both soon go past 50. They retired having left a solid platform. Middle order contributions from Charlie Hallam and Yasser Afghen kept St Albans going. Late call up Roger Hallam was even able to enjoy a late partnership with his son before Coffer returned to the crease. A sight rate to this level of a reverse scoop saw him depart for 59. Harry Knill-Jones finished on 60* before heading off for his work shift, as St Albans finished on 193.

In response Rohaan Dean was able to pick up a wicket with his first ball, castling the opening batter. The Boxmoor openers looked to go on the attack early finding the boundary on a number of occasions before Rohaan pick his second wicket. An excellent opening spell from Rohaan saw him pick up the first 4 wickets. Charlie Hallam found the 5th wicket to put St Albans in command with both bowlers using the pitch conditions to great effect. Jamie Coffer and Yasser Afghen picked up deserved wickets, St Albans aided by 3 catches from the fielders loaned from the opposition. Charlie and Rohaan returned a quickly took the remaining two wickets to seal victory. Rohaan finishing with a very impressive 5-18.
A very good day out and a well earned victory. Big thanks to Harry and Roger for stepping in last minute to play and get a fixture on.
