Old Finchleians II v St Albans Cricket Club 3XI on Sat 31 May 2008 at
St Albans Cricket Club Won by 31 runs

Match report A damp track and squelchy outfield meant that a high scoring game was unlikely. However, having been put in, St Albans slumped to 21-4 and a very short game possible. Excellent concentration and patience from Eames, Newall (50 on debut) and the lower order rescued the situation and 145 off 50.1 overs was certainly competitive. St Albans bowling was varied but as the score rose the wickets fell at regular intervals, often to rash shots. Andrew Walker bagged 5-29 and the rest supported well as Old Finchleians fell short. Excellent tea, splendid showers, opposition captain bowled well and home with 30 points - good day!
