Bushey III v St Albans Cricket Club 4XI on Sat 02 Jun 2018 at 1pm
St Albans Cricket Club Lost by 9 wkts

Match report An away match at top of the table Bushey. A new look team as only 2 players from last week's winning team were available. Thanks to everyone who answered the last minute call for players to get a team together.
The day did not quite go as planned. The toss was lost and St Albans were put in to bat.
Sadly an abject performance across the board with a couple of exceptions. Few were willing to work hard against the variable bounce and patience was limited. All wickets were lost as the result of poor shot selection except for poor Sachin Patel who was looking very secure until he was undone by a ball that shot along the ground. John Webber also looked in fine form but could only watch from the non-strikers end as the last 7 wickets fell for just 9 runs. Sharma from Bushey reaped the rewards with bowling figures of 3.4-2-2-7. St Albans innings ending on 27 in the 18th over.
With nothing to defend Glenn O'Grady bowled really well picking up the only bonus point, with a wicket in his first over. Bushey did not hang about and the game was over after 5 overs.

An early tea was taken, and a beer game was readily agreed.
Some highlights:
John Webber opened the bowling, picking up 2 wickets in his 3 overs.
Michael Jones, Rupert Evershed, and Zac Tarrant bowled steadily with a number of chances not quite going to hand.
Glenn picked up 3 wickets in his only over at the end of the Bushey innings, and he will start his next match on a hat trick. Bushey finishing on 145-7 from their 15 overs.
Pat and Ciaran Walsh opened for St Albans. Pat wanted to show the rest of the team how easy cricket was. He did this by being cleaned bowled twice in his 3 balls faced by their U13 colt.
Everyone showed more resolve with their second opportunity of the day with the bat. Rupert Evershed (27) and Eamon Goodfellow (17) putting on a good partnership.
Bushey's U13 colt picked up 5 wickets in his 5 over spell and St Albans fell short of their target for the loss of 7 wickets.

Having lost both games on the pitch, St Albans eventually found their feet and won a convincing victory in the bar afterwards.

Lessons learned - more application needed next week for a return to winning ways.
