Match report On a beautiful summers day at the home of cricket St Albans won the toss and elected to bat. Charlie Parkinson (25) and Peter Melling (8) opened the batting and nullified the early threatening attack. Then came the turn of Fergie to take the attack to the bowling unit and score a great knock of 57 with some elegant shots. Gyan Rhodes (27) and Harvey Scott (16) accelerated the run rate with some powerful batting. St Albans finishing on 224 for 9 of 40 overs. Barclays CC were in a generous mood as they added 52 extras to the score. Yes 52....

With 224 on the board St Albans were in confident mood. When Charlie Parkinson took a wicket in the first over it was the perfect start. However, batsmen two and three for the opposition changed the game scoring 30 and 75 respectively. Harvey Scott put an end to both batsmen's innings taking 4 wickets from his allotted 8 overs with a superb spell of bowling. Batsmen six then made the game interesting scoring 46 not out. St Albans kept taking wickets at the other end with Mocks, Kevin Milton, Huzefa and George Pelham all picking up one a piece.

St Albans completed the game in the 33rd over winning by 35 runs. A great team effort considering the lack of fitness of the majority of the team due to the England game the day before.
