Match report After winning the toss, skipper Winfield had no hesitation in putting Chorleywood into bat on a very green Sandpit Lane wicket with recent rain. Currently 3rd in the table a win for 4s would keep promotion possible.

The bowling was opened by Zac West and Saud Fattah and both quickly settled into a good rhythm extracting some good pace, lift and movement making it very difficult for the opening batsmen. An aggressive field was set of 2 slips, gully and close catching fielders. Saud finally got the first wicket, a smart catch in gully taken by new man James Henderson. Zac was very unlucky not to get any wickets and finished with an impressive 0-7 from his 8 overs.
At drinks Chorleywood has crawled to 29 for 2 as Josh Moore (1 for 11 from 8 overs) and Winfield (1 for 4 from 8 overs) kept a very tight line and the squeeze on the batters. A change in bowlers brought a flurry of wickets, Dave Ashton picking up 2- 12 from his 4 overs and Sam Mistry 3 - 10 from his 4 overs. Mistry kept the batmen guessing as he mixed line and length, including a couple of beamers that had him on a warning. Saud took the last wicket with the very last ball of the 40 overs and had a return of 3 -13 from his 8 overs. Chorleywood all out for 61.

A mention too for Toby Crisp playing his first league game for some time – he kept wicket and was very sharp, dealing with the variable bounce and taking a very good diving catch.

Manny and James Henderson opened the batting knowing that, as always at Sandpit Lane, a sensible approach would be needed to avoid some of the variable bounce. Both played with solid defence, punished anything off-line and ran quick singles to keep the scoreboard moving. James batted very fluently and played some lovely leg clips. Manny was out for 31 as the score were almost level and he and James got the 4s to a winning position in the 15 over, to win by a convincing 9 wickets. Another strong win to keep 4s in 3rd in the table and keep the pressure on the 2 teams above.
