Match report Having loss the toss again... St Albans were put into the field on very hot day and extremely flat track. Tight opening spells from Captain Winfield and Saud meant Chingford were under pressure and 2 down after 10, although a few dropped catches meant this could have been more. This tight bowling was then followed up well by Church, Siva and Sunday gun Altaf who all bowled well on a flat track that offered little to their seam bowling. Chingford batted well in the middle overs and built a nice partnership with one of there bats getting to 70 odd. This was of course before the secret weapon Sammy Kumar was released who made quick work of the set batsmen and him and skipper Winfield rounded off the innings with great death bowling meaning Chingford barely reach 200. A target which looked and should've been way more thanks to road produced by Grounds man Cales. A great effort in the field considering!!

This then lead to the St Albans innings which was started with an utterly dominate opening partnership of over 100 by Harry Knill-Jones and Manny. This dominance was then continued by Stu and Harry after Manny got out just short of another half century (45). These 2 continued to knock the ball around and find the boundary with ease and took St Albans 95% of the way to the finish line before both being removed Stu ending with 38 and Harry a classy 88, whose dismal was jinxed by none other than Andy Saunders ("take a picture and put it in the chat when he gets his ton".... out next ball!!!). Of course no St Albans innings is complete without a collapse and a couple of quick wickets meant that 25 was needed off the last 5. This of course was made short work of by the power hitting of Ed Lowe, whose 20 secured a well deserved 1st win of the season for the Sunday 1s!!!
