Captain Cora Baylis won the toss and confidently put Grand Union into bat. However the bowlers struggled to find their line and Grand Union raced away to 82 after the first 10 overs before Sophie Treloar (3-8-4) picked up the first 2 wickets of the game in her first over. St Albans started to claw back the momentum, and once Cora Baylis (3-7-4) bowled in the closing overs, St Albans had recovered well to restrict Grand Union to 135-9 after their 20 overs. Special mention to a fantastic debut performance by wicketkeeper Jessie Nelson, who was also involved in a sharp run out.

In reply openers Alicia Gibson and Jessie Nelson were restricted by some accurate bowling. Grand Union were tight in the field, Alicia falling to a run out from a direct hit. Cora Baylis (27*) and Jessie built a partnership of 65 in 8 overs, keeping St Albans in the game, until Jessie was controversially run out for 23. Sophie Treloar started quickly hitting a couple of quick boundaries and St Albans were ahead of the required run rate for the first time. Unfortunately just as Sophie was getting into her stride she fell to a very good catch. The remaining batters kept pushing but the opening bowlers returned to close out the game. St Albans finishing on 111-8, losing by 24 runs.
