After winning a ‘best of three’ Rock, Paper, Scissors, Radlett elected to bowl first.
Rachel Kincaid and Gaurie Kohli opening the St Albans innings. After Rachel was bowled first ball of the match, they accumulated 13 runs. Gaurie finished on 6 not out.
Mia Kent and Gabby Hayman put on 16 runs, with Gabby top scoring with 11 not out.
Next pair Katherine Kincaid and Emma Treloar put on 13 runs; Emma finished on 8 not out.
The final pair, Isabella O’Sullivan and Charlotte Cowen batted sensibly and scored a valuable 16 runs.
St Albans finished on 258 losing 4 wickets.
Radlett started strongly, scoring 37 runs off the first 5 overs. The next Radlett batting pair were restricted to scoring only 1 run in 5 overs. Mia, Isabella, and Charlotte each took a vital wicket and Katherine bowled a maiden over. St Albans girls never stopped encouraging each other in the field. Charlotte took over wicket keeping duties from Gaurie, allowing Gaurie to bowl and take a wicket.
Gabby bowled the last over which resulted in two wickets, a run out and a great catch by Katherine at cover.
In the end a great bowling and fielding restricted Radlett to 268.
