Flamstead v St Albans Cricket Club 3XI on Sat 23 May 2009 at 1:30pm
St Albans Cricket Club Lost

Match report After a disappointing decision by the captain to bowl first, St Albans allowed a promising early bowling position to slip after some strong hitting by century maker Brown. Saints were set a target of 242 to win in 49 overs. Bowling honours went to spin twins Paul Goddard and Basir and seamers Pullan and Robbie Goddard.

After 2 early wickets, Giffen and Black batted beautifully to see Saints to 100 for 2 and well placed to challenge but a cluster of wickets meant they slumped to 104 for 5. Obdurate batting meant that Saint managed a final total of 177 all out.

Overall Flamstead proved the better side on the day although a suspicious captaincy decision to insert the opposition certainly did not help.
