Hertingfordbury v St Albans Cricket Club 2XI on Sat 17 Jul 2010 at 1.00pm
St Albans Cricket Club Lost by 2 wickets

Match report Ten men of St Albans took on eleven of Hertingfordbury in a rural paradise surrounded by church spire, prep school, village lanes, a marquee and some cows. This game represented a first in many ways:
1. four men turned up for the meet on time
2. only ten turned up for the game
3. a St Albans bowler delivering a treble stotter
4. opposition scorer failing to distinguish Uttam and Afroz - what a spell!
A well grassed pitch rewarded straight seam and swing bowling and watchful batsmanship. Most St A batters got runs but the highlight was Adam's 50*, particularly memorable a straight six which disrupted the mating antics of a herd of cows. No bucolic slog this though, as cow corner was directly behind the bowlers arm.
The St A boys retired to a magnificent tea satisfied with 240-6.
However the bowling went completely awol, despite great fielding from Milli, Toby and Ed, and wickets from Afroz and Uttam. Anything off line went for 4, and only having nine effective fielders after Macca got injured was the difference between the teams, as H chased down 240 with 2 wickets to spare.
