Match report A great game and a great win.

BB won the toss and chose to bat first. Despite some tidy bowling from Goddard, Khan, Smith and Rosson it was hard to make a breakthrough on a batting firendly Clarence Park. Goddard took the first wicket before BB accelerated their innings. Ramsey came on to take a second wicket before Rajendran was introduced to take four wickets. The wickets did not stem the flow of runs with a rapid outfield and some less than average fielding attempts!! BB declared the innings on a sporting 244 for 6.

St A's reply got off to a rocketing start with Mckinlay and Rowlands matching each other blow for blow with an opening partnership of 87. Both fell in their 40's having laid the foundations for the chase. Goddard, inserted at 3 to facilitate his early evening flight for the emerald isle consolidated things before falling for a patient 7. Ramsey came to the crease and set about building an innings. Rajendran joined him before being caught for a quick 11. Ramsey and Furnivall took the score to 170 before the captain was yorked for 32. Ramsey kept his composure and aided by some lusty blows from Hounslow, Rosson and particularly Khan saw the home side home for a very positive 30 points in the season curtain raiser. Ramsey's unbeaten 67 was an excellent knock and showed real composure.

Some positive performances with the bat and ball, and some work to be done on the fielding. Roll on Saturday for another 30 big ones!!!
