St Albans Cricket Club Lost Rickmansworth 130-3 beat St Albans 110-6

Match report The St Albans U13s lost narrowly in their second match of the season, in what was a high-scoring game. Rickmansworth opened the batting and ended their innings on 130. Their top scorers being Owen Denham who retired on 27, followed by Tom Dias who made 22.

St Albans bowling was relatively tight, but somehow they just couldn’t break down the batting order. Although they were offered a few catching chances, these were soon put down in the field, and in the end only managed to take 3 of the Rickmansworth wickets.

Reaching a score of 130+ was always going to be a tall order and with the light slowly diminishing, St Albans started off slow, but soon picked up the pace. New debutant Joe Price retired on 25 and Tim Bagnell was run out on 18. Wickets tumbled very quickly after that with St Albans always chasing the pace. Being behind the run rate and eventually losing by 21 runs, it just goes to show that one can never be predictive about everything!
