Match report A great master class in some very tight bowling and superb fielding handed the St Albans U13s their second victory of the season. Facing a tough opposition, St Albans reduced the visitors Watford Town to 60 all out in just fewer than 18 overs. And with 7 of the visitors being caught out, and the remaining bowled, things looked pretty easy from the beginning.

Danny (11) and Kishan (10) were Watford’s highest scorers, but it was the St Albans bowling that really hit the mark. Turk and Bagnall took 2 wickets each, whilst Luke Cavanagh, Jaden Solomons, Harry Brown and Ollie Barnett took the others. However, it was George Loveman who stole the show by claiming 3 maidens for each one of his overs and at the same time taking an additional 2 wickets.

Although Watford did start to add a few singles along the way, debutant Magnus Morgan took two superb catches to ensure Watford were all dismissed for 60.

After the interval, the St Albans batters started off just were their bowlers had left off and opener Edward Cook quickly hit a few boundaries to reach 20 before being run out due to a collision with his partner, Tim Bagnall. Tim was then joined by Andrew Bailey at the crease who seemed to settle in quickly, but was then lbw’d for 10. Bagnall then held his ground and between him and Loveman the boys slowly chipped away at Watford’s total before ending up on a quick fire 61 in 10.5 overs.
