St Albans Cricket Club 3XI v Potters Bar III on Sat 15 Jun 2002 at tba
St Albans Cricket Club Lost by 5 wkts

Match report A poor batting performance resulted in St Albans IIIs losing thier first game of the season. Most batsmen failed to adjust to the dreadfully slow wicket and either lobbed up catches or played back when they should have played forwards. Two notable exceptions were Simon Smithers (31) who attempted (and failed) to make up for running out Jamie Swanton (23).

The bowling was excellent though wth Jerry Woodcock unplayable for the most part. It took Potters Bar 5 wkts and 49 overs to make the 115 to win.

Hopefully, with Cliff Nicholls returning from the Betty Ford clinic fully recovered from his Red Bull overdose, next week the IIIs will return to their winning ways.
