Match report Two disappointing periods of play left Saints on the wrong side of a draw in this clash with Old Albanians.

Bowling first, Saints were in good shape with the score on 5/49 - the bowling was doing its job and the fielding was sharp. But from that point, Saints stumbled, with catches slipping through the fingers with disturbing frequency. Matthieson pressed well and rode his luck to 65 in a crucial partnership of 99, and OA's finished on 167 in 47 overs. Hay was the pick of the bowlers with 4/53.

In 43 overs, 168 looked a challenging target, but considering the morning rain, the wicket was playing well. Manny played with his usual vigour (29) and a positive start took Saints to 75-2, and then 92-3 - after which 5 wickets fell for just 10 runs, over 10 overs. From this point, a win was out of the question; 36 runs for the 9th wicket saw the day out, Saints having the worst of things.
