Match report Catches win matches, and so they proved today against Totteridge.
Having lost the toss the bowlers were all up to task and kept some great lines to keep the pressure on the batsmen, and bowl to a tight field (especially as we started the game with only 8 players). Totteridge batsmen all got themselves in, but none of the Totteridge batsmen scored more than 26, their top 5 batsmen all succumbing to some great catches. A stunning direct hit from Andy Saunders initiated a final tumble of wickets to complete Totteridge's innings after 44 overs, to finish on 152.
In reply St Albans innings got off to a difficult start and were soon 9-1 in the third over. A good partnership of 36 with Manny and Ashish got St Albans back into a good position however a few quick wickets and we were suddenly under pressure at 87-5. Andy KJ joined Manny to help stop the rot with a 67 partnership, and it was fitting that Manny hit the winning runs, finishing not out on 99.
Another good team win with everyone able to contribute.
The final league game of the year, and the win gives us promotion!
