Match report St. Albans won the toss and elected to bat at sun-drenched Freman College.

Saints lost both openers early on in the innings, but Dean (31) and Shah (41) combined nicely to carry Saints through the early overs. Both Dean and Shah fell in quick succession, the former to a sharp catch at slip, and the latter caught at deep square-leg, triggering a mini-collapse. Mark Telkman and Charlie Parkinson played sensibly to carry the innings forward, but when both went in identical fashion chipping to mid-wicket, the Saints innings crumbled. 154 all out, probably 80-100 runs short of a par total.

Needing to take wickets to have any chance of victory, St. Albans gambled with attacking fields, but the bowlers struggled to find a consistent line and length and the Reed batsman took advantage with a good array of attacking shots (aided with the occasional bye from stand-in keeper Jamie Telkman). Watkins was particularly unlucky with the Reed batsman utilising their inside edges to good effect, but in the end it just wasn't enough. Reed deserved winners by 3 wickets.
