St Albans Cricket Club 3XI v Luton Town & Indians IV on Sat 22 Jul 2017 at 13:00
Match was Abandoned

Match report A frustrating day for all, as St Albans 3s hosted Luton Town and Indians.

Telkman lost the toss, and Saints were asked to bat. As it happened, that meant the majority of the side was able to stay out of the rain, which began in time for the scheduled beginning.

After a short delay, Gemmill and Satsangi got things underway. Gemmill looked in good touch with his firm drives. However rain forced the players from the field after just 6 overs. The weather did its best to improve but before a resumption was possible the rain returned and with the wicket sodden, the skippers shook hands.

The final score had a familiar look to it, for the corresponding away fixture had suffered the same ill-weathered fate. Against one of the weaker teams in the League, the 3s rued their misfortune in being limited to 10 points, when 30 would have been more than welcome.
