Match report The best batting display for some considerable time, in fact the
first time the league second eleven have posted a total of 200 and gained
maximum batting points since 1999! Useful contributions from Dave Creswell,
Naz Ingeyar and Steve Ferguson, and a particularly encouraging display from
debutant Jamie Swanton who looks a fine prospect for the club. Luton got off
to a decent start, despite maximum effort from St Albans openers Afroz Khan
and Nissar Ahmed, there was no early breakthrough. Cooke and Malley bowled in
tandem, regularly taking wickets, and keeping Luton tied to their run a ball
rate. Needing just over thirty from their last four overs Luton seemed to
have given up the chase, and despite s further hostile spell from Afroz St.
Albans had to settle for a draw. A good all round performance by the side,
taking 18 points to Luton's 9.
