Match report St Albans III registered their first win in another low scoring match at Verulam school. Having been put into bat, again most of St Albans batsmen batted well to get their eye in only to get themselves out. Only a middle order stand of 28 between the Nicholls brothers Cliff and Nigel and a rearguard action between Mark Bashford and Barry Atkinson helped St Albans limp to 124 all out. Cliff Nicholls scored 26.

Parkfield started well and were 42 for no wicket in the 11th over but were 48-4 after the 15th. Simon Fretter took the first wicket with the 7th ball of his last over. All the other bowlers chipped in with a wicket or two but the star was veteran Barry Atkinson, now in his 95th season, who finished with the fine figures of 5-28. Parkfield's last man was finally prised out with a meat and potato special from Bash.
