St Albans Cricket Club 3XI v Ickleford II on Sat 22 Jun 2002 at tba
St Albans Cricket Club Won by 142 runs

Match report The IIIs got back to winning ways with a whopping 142 run win over bottom placed Ickleford. When Ickford won the toss and decided to field, with only 8 men at the ground, a long drawn out batttle was on the cards.

St Albans batted sensibly and amassed a healthy 206 - 5 off 47 overs with Cliff Nicholls scoring 71 and Max Brown 78 not out.

The bowling was superb again this week and Ickleford quickly lost 3 wickets with as many runs on the board. However an early visit to the bar was thwarted by Ickleford's less young and hence more wiley and stubborn lower order refusing to budge easily. However, St Albans ground them out with the last man falling with the score on 64 in the 40th over. The pick of the bowlers was Jerry Woodcock who took 3 - 7 in 12 overs, 4 of the runs being overthrows.
