Match report It was grey clouds and drizzle rather than the forecast sunshine that greeted the teams at Sandpit Lane, as St Albans 4s returned to action. Neither skipper was sure whether to bat or bowl, but Frogmore were forced to choose and inserted Saints hoping to make the most of the changeable conditions.

Saints set about seeing off the new ball, but Frogmore's nine men kept it tight with no runs scored off the first five overs. James soon broke the shackles with a few trademark lusty blows but then played around a straight one. He was soon followed by Townend, adjudged lbw, and Webber and Saunders, bowled for 5 and 3 respectively. Knill-Jones (8)and Kanchwala (12) lead the recovery, but it was the injection of Little (30) that gave the innings some much needed impetus and helped St Albans to post a target of 104.

Salahin and Mistry lead the bowling attack, but Frogmore's openers looked in no trouble, pushing the score into the forties by the tenth over. But with the first change in bowling came a change in fortunes, as Saunders and then Little accounted for the opening pair. Little (4-7) and Saunders (2-6) picked up four more wickets between them in a frugal spell of bowling that tipped the scales in Saints' favour. It was left to Milton's leg spin to wrap up the final wickets, both caught by Mistry at square leg, as Saints registered a convincing win.
