Match report A low scoring but exciting game saw St Albans IIIs tie with North Enfield IIs. Having been asked to bat on a lively wicket, St Albans again batted poorly and could only muster 118 runs, Pat Sylvester top scoring with 17. With plenty of overs in hand North Enfield batted sensibly and looked to be cruising to victory at 100 - 3. However an inspired bowling spell from Mark Bashford, who finished with figures of 4 - 4, helped reduce Enfield to 105 - 7. Enfield regained the initiative and the total crept to 118 - 7. An attempt by Enfield to pinch the winning run resulted in a run out and immediately afterwards the next wicket fell, bowled. Next over Barry Atkinson held his nerve and despite a missed stumping chance, took the final wicket.
