Match report Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory !

Having won the toss St Albans set about the opposition bowling attack with gusto , scoring freely and despite the early loss of Manny , Ashton (36) , Sprowson (85) and Scott (46) all filled their boots on a decent surface. Still chipped in with a useful 29 and a total of 231 at the end of 45 overs looked competitive to say the least.

So , to the bowling .... the fact that we conceded 47 (count 'em) extras mainly byes and wides from some , if I'm being kind, 'wayward' bowling should give you a clue to our performance in the field. Some truly shocking bowling and awful fielding , which turned 1's into 4's and saw several catches dropped, did for us as our impressive total was eroded away with 6 overs to spare .

So well done to the batsman but some honest reflection and time in the nets needed for some of the bowlers and fielders.
