Match report St Albans bowlers all did well in difficult damp conditions keeping the run rate to under 5. The Darji innings was underpinned by Krunal (85*).

In reply the openers had to negotiate some real pace and bounce from the strike bowlers. Clive (30) and Amit (30) both had good partnerships with Ashish who batted maginificently for 35 overs. St Albans kept ahead of the run rate, until the 35th over. A flurry of wickets and the momentum swung back to Darji's favour. Despite Ashish's best efforts he was left at the non-strikers end at the start of the final over, with 3 runs needed for victory. The incoming batsmen were unable to rotate the strike and Ashish was left on 99, only sacrificing his wicket in a desperate attempt to regain the strike.

A fantastic match played in a great spirit. Hopefully we can correct the result on the return fixture.
