Match report An odd game! For the first twenty overs Hertford barely scored a run but then, after losing two wickets, started a recovery. Even so, at 75-6 and 136-8 a low total was in the offing. A late display of big hitting saw the Hertford no.10 get a quick 50 and so 205 all out was posted.

St. Albans batted well but perhaps too slowly in the first thirty overs and were well behind the rate. Some excellent striking by Prasanjit Dasgupta kept a faint hope alive but the wickets continued to fall. The run chase was still on until the death, falling eighteen short.

It was good to see Fergie back to something like his old self with the bat but the opposition were allowed to score too many when we should have be chasing a much more reachable total.
