Match report Having managed to set up CP in record time and get the game reduced to 40 overs, St Albans proceeded to lose the toss and were made to bat. The opening partnership of Murray and Kendall (47) got saints off to a good start, with both players timing the ball well. A bowling change from Alexandra bought about the wickets of Murray, followed by Islam. With Dean following not too long after. A series of good partnerships formed between Kendall and Wilton, then Wilton and hall, which put St Albans in position for Ralfe to come in and take the score up to 209.

The Alexandra innings took an unfortunate start with saints failing to contain the overseas opening batsmen until the score was 80 odd off 15. But thanks to some excellent bowling Ralfe and Dean, it meant that a tight finish was on. With Alexandra needing 30 off the last 6 it would be 3 overs from the captain, 1 from hall, 1 from Roache and 1 from Telkman. The 1st from hall did not go well... The 2nd from Winfield - 4 off it. 3rd from Roache was also tight as was Winfield's 2nd, which included a run out that wasn't given! Leaving 9 off the last 2. Telkman then bowled a fantastic over only going for 4. Leaving 5 to win off the last. Winfield's 1st 2 balls both went for 4 and that was the game.
