Match report Raza endeared himself to the rest of his team on a hot and sunny afternoon, when he lost the toss and was put into field.

The Fives opening pair rode their luck against Holt and Fretter S and had to wait for 15 overs before Fretter S bowled Craig White (not THE Craig White). The Fives top five batsmen all got starts and it took Nadeem Arif with some dibbly-dobbly bowling to make the break through. He finished with 4-16 and Fives were all out for 218, which looked a little under par, with three short boundaries.

Things did not start well as Holt was given caught behind off the 3rd ball. He claims he didn't hit the ball, but the bat makes a 'clicking' noise when he cuts at the ball ??!!

Arshad hit the bad ball well and looked to be building a solid partnership with Andrew Jones, but the later hit the ball down the throat of the fielder for just 15. Tim Fretter looked to follow Jones as he hit a couple of fine shots, before falling to a straight one from the 1st team opening bowler.

Raza could not resist the temptation of the 'loopy' leg spinner and fell into skying the ball to long on for just 6.

Nadeem was run out, from a direct hit, having been called for a 2nd run, following the direct hit at the other end. Sadily he was out by a couple of yards. Simon and Jeremy Fretter then tried to see out the last 20 overs, but both could not resist the tempation that Raza fell to earlier. Jeremy was bowled for 15 and Simon stumped for 8.

Although Woodcock hit a couple of lusty blows, he fell to a suicide run out before Nisar was stumped, and last man out.

St Albans lost by 82 runs, although the score does not fully reflect the state of the match.
