Match report St Albans put Edmonton into bat and started well with Jamie Gifford taking early wickets. Edmonton were left at 25-5 and then 41-7. However, a few over of sloppy fielding allowed the lower order to amass a few lucky runs. A smart stumping saw off the challenge of Edmonton who were bowled out for 127 off 38 overs. Gifford taking best figures of 6- 13.

Sylvester opened the batting in the style of an England opener and hit several fine shots through the cover and extra cover region. Hallchurch fell cheaply when playing on, and Tim Fretter followed in the same manner after hitting a brisk 16 runs.

Sylvester notched his maiden 50 for the club as he and Jeremy Fretter put on over 70 runs to see St Albans home by 7 wickets with over 20 Overs to spare.
