Match report Letchworth won the toss and chose to field. St Albans got off to a decent start but the loss of 4 quick wickets soon put us on the back foot. Matt Howeson provided the backbone of the innings with an agressive 83, but unfortunately none of the other batsmen could make a significant contribution.
Having taken the field, matters did not improve as Saints let their opponents get off to a cracking start, thus reducing their required run rate. Despite some attacking spin bowling from Malley and Cooke chances just would not go to hand.
Saint total soon looked inadequate and Letchworth cruised, albeit with the lions share of good fortune, to a seven wicket victory.
A general all round improvement in performance is called for with a visit to top of the table Hertford next week.
