Match report Hatfield Hyde won a closely contested game played in good spirit throughout.St Albans won the toss, decided to bat and started well reaching the 6th over before Tom Watson claimed his first wicket with a good catch by Jack Matthews.

Ted Cooke and Hashim Awan for St Albans then took control, playing some powerful shots before retiring on 30 and 33 respectively. From that point, Hatfield Hyde managed to slow down the run rate with good fielding and accurate bowling from Scott Davies and Tom Watson, aided by a wicket maiden from Abdullah Chaudhary to end the St Albans innings on 93-4.

Hatfield Hyde lost three early wickets, finding it hard to score against the St Albans opening bowlers, particularly Jaden Solomons (2-6), before James Cory and Abdullah Chaudhary began to strike the ball well to bring the St Albans total within reach. Abdullah retired on 30 and James was bowled for 28 by Talha Turk leaving Hatfield Hyde still with some runs to score with the overs running out.

But a few strong shots from Scott Davies, including a four to win the match, gave Hatfield Hyde their first win of the season, and another loss for St Albans.
