St Albans Cricket Club 4XI v Hoddesdon IV on Sat 06 Jul 2002 at 1:30
St Albans Cricket Club Won win by 214 runs (sacc 30 pts - Hoddesdon 0 pts)

Match report In a one sided match the St Albans team lost the toss and were asked to bat for the first time this season. The reason behind the decision was that the game would last past 2.00pm.

The score started off at 5 an over and never looked back. Despite the loss of J Fretter, who pulled a full toss to mid wicket and Raj who was plumb LBW, the score continued to mount.

David Combes hit a brisk 18 before finding a fielder with another mishit shot.

Tim Fretter and Pat Sylvester piled on the score with Tim in 'Andy Flintoff' mode, which Pat remained in the 'Chris Tavare' role.

Pat finally fell for 71 and was replaced by Simon Smithers who hit a very fast 41no. Tim Fretter finished on a season best 79no.

With a score of 244 on the board and still 56 overs left the St Albans side looked for quick wickets and sure enough they came along, all at once......

Uzman took 7 wickets for 7 runs and was totally unplayable. The Hoddesdon side, who were bottom of the table, were shot out for just 30 runs.
